Chennai College Student Plays Aviator Between Lectures
Chennai, Tamil Nadu – For 22-year-old Meena Raj, life is a careful balance of ambition, anxiety, and academics. A final-year student at Loyola College pursuing a degree in commerce, Meena’s days are packed with lectures, assignments, and part-time tutoring jobs to help fund her education.
But one humid Wednesday afternoon, between an economics lecture and a group study session, Meena’s usual routine took an unexpected turn.
“I was in the canteen waiting for my friend who was running late. I had 30 minutes and no Wi-Fi, so I switched to mobile data and just scrolled,”
That’s when she saw an Instagram ad featuring a game called Aviator. With bright visuals and a rising airplane graphic, it looked like a fun, casual mobile game.
“It said something like ‘Watch your winnings fly!’ I was curious.”
“I started small. The first two rounds, I cashed out early. Then I got confident.” In total, she played under 20 minutes, walked out of the canteen with ₹84,000 in her wallet, and a whole new outlook on how luck can change in a blink.
“I let out a scream. Everyone thought I failed a test or something!”
Meena used her winnings:
- Clear her tuition fees,
- Bought a reliable laptop for her studies
- Quietly support her family with everyday expenses
“I’m not dropping out or anything,” she laughed. “But it’s the first time I felt I had a shortcut to something big.”
